Pope Francis Vaccinated Against Coronavirus

Pope Francis has been vaccinated against the coronavirus with the vaccine produced by American Pfizer and German BioNTech. This was reported on Wednesday by the Argentine newspaper La Nacion, citing its sources.

The TASS news agency reports that the pontiff received the first dose of the vaccine, with the second expected to be administered within three weeks. Information about the Pope's vaccination has not yet been officially confirmed by the Vatican.

In a recent interview, the 84-year-old Pope expressed his intention to get vaccinated, stating that it is “everyone’s moral duty to protect the health and lives of others.” Earlier on Wednesday, Matteo Bruni, head of the Holy See's press office, announced that vaccinations would begin at the Vatican.
