From now on, all foreigners can enter Armenia by air and land routes, says Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Government of Armenia, in accordance with decision No. 1514-N dated September 11, 2020, and the amendments that took effect on January 12, 2021, has extended the quarantine period in the territory of the Republic of Armenia due to the COVID-19 pandemic until July 11, 2021, as reported by the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Restrictions on entry into the Republic of Armenia by land for individuals who are not citizens of the Republic of Armenia have been lifted. From now on, all foreigners can enter the country both by air and by land.

Upon entering the territory of Armenia at air and land border crossing points, individuals must present a negative result certificate for the COVID-19 PCR test, issued no more than 72 hours prior. The certificate should be in Armenian, Russian, or English and must include the full contact details of the medical institution that conducted the test, the name of the head of the institution, as well as the tested individual’s name and surname, the identification document number, date of birth, and the test result, signed by the organization's leader and stamped with the organization's seal.

The Health and Labor Inspection Authority conducts an immediate inspection (remote temperature measurement, external examination, and additional questioning in case of clinical symptoms characteristic of infection) to detect signs of the virus, checking for the presence of the certificate.

Individuals without a certificate will be subject to sampling at the airport or land border crossing points and mandatory self-isolation until a negative result of the PCR test is obtained. Based on the inspection results, hospitalization will be applied if there are relevant symptoms. Individuals will bear the costs related to the PCR test and possible treatment.
