Armenian Ministry of Defense Issues Statement on Tuition Compensation for Students Participating in War
The Armenian Ministry of Defense has clarified the decision N 2008-L adopted during the government meeting on December 10 regarding the reimbursement of tuition fees for students who participated in combat operations during the war unleashed by the Republic of Azerbaijan against the Republic of Artsakh starting from September 27, 2020. This applies to both the students who participated in the hostilities and the children and spouses of those involved in the war.
According to the information and public relations department of the Armenian Ministry of Defense, to receive tuition reimbursement for the first half of the 2020-2021 academic year, it is necessary to apply to the Military Recruitment and Mobilization Service of the Armenian Ministry of Defense (address: Babayan 6) or the local military registration office of the citizen, obtain a certificate or a military booklet marked as “combat operation participant,” and present it to the university.
“Participation in combat operations in the armed forces is confirmed by a document from the Military Recruitment and Mobilization Service of the Armenian Ministry of Defense or the local military registration office (military commissariat) of the citizen, or with the appropriate annotation in the military registration booklet. For those serving in other forces, the confirmation will be provided by the relevant authorized state body within three weeks after the submission of the application,” the statement says.
