Another Officer Arrested in the Dink Assassination Case
Ökan Şimşek, a suspect in the assassination case of Armenian-Turkish journalist and founder-editor of Agos newspaper Hrant Dink, has been arrested, reports Ermenihaber. A Turkish court had decided on January 8 to arrest the former officer from the Trabzon gendarmerie’s intelligence division for being aware of the assassination plot and concealing it.
The Turkish authorities arrested Şimşek in Manisa. Days earlier, two former gendarmerie intelligence officers, Veysal Şahin and Volkan Şahin, were also arrested by court order in connection with Dink's assassination case.
