A Group of Individuals Involved in a Burglary Incident in Ejmiadzin Has Been Uncovered

The Armenian Investigative Committee's regional office in Armavir has revealed a significant case of residential burglary committed by a group of individuals in prearranged agreement. Charges have been filed against a 46-year-old resident of Ejmiadzin.

This was reported by the Department of Information and Public Relations of the Armenian Investigative Committee.

According to the evidence obtained, the 46-year-old resident of Ejmiadzin, on September 7, 2020, around 10:25 PM, entered into a prior agreement with a 37-year-old acquaintance and another unidentified individual. Intending to secretly seize someone else's property, they drove to Ejmiadzin in a “Mercedes” car operated by the acquaintance.

The 37-year-old acquaintance assisted by waiting in the car, while the 46-year-old man and the other individual entered an apartment in a building on Shahumyan Street in Ejmiadzin. Coordinating their actions, they used technical devices to open the lock on the apartment's entrance door, unlawfully entered, and stole a safe, escaping to the waiting vehicle, thereby causing significant property damage.

Based on a combination of sufficient evidence, the 46-year-old man has been charged under Article 177, Part 3, Point 1.1 of the Criminal Code of Armenia, and has been remanded in custody as a preventive measure. The investigation in his case has been completed, and the criminal case has been sent to the court with an indictment.

The other two individuals involved have been separated into a different proceeding; the 37-year-old man has been charged and is also in custody, with an arrest warrant issued for him. Measures are underway to identify and locate the third person who allegedly committed the crime.
