Turkish-Plated Trucks Damaged in Yerevan Over Right-of-Way Dispute

An extraordinary incident occurred in Yerevan on January 8. At approximately 19:50, the operational management center of the Yerevan Traffic Police received a report that citizens were vandalizing a truck with Turkish license plates at the intersection of Nairi Zarian Street and Freedom Avenue in the Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district.

According to Shamshyan.com, both Yerevan’s traffic police and the operational group from the Kanaker-Zeytun police department arrived at the scene. At the site, officers discovered two trucks, with the license plates TR 08 K 6839 and TR 08 K 6614, damaged with their headlights and side mirrors broken.

Investigations by the Kanaker-Zeytun police department revealed that the trucks belonged to a company named “Gyuzden Nakliyat,” operating in Yerevan. A representative from the company was invited to the police station for questioning.

It was determined that while driving on Freedom Avenue, the trucks had been stopped by the driver of another vehicle due to a dispute over right-of-way, and two individuals exited that vehicle to attack and damage the Turkish trucks’ headlights and side mirrors with metal rods.

Thanks to operational-search measures taken by the criminal investigation department of the Kanaker-Zeytun police, it was revealed that one of the perpetrators is 48-year-old Edwin Mokeil Khodaverdin, a citizen of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Police are taking necessary steps to establish the identities of both individuals and locate them.
