The trilateral working group on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue will hold its first meeting by January 30. This was reported by TASS, citing a joint statement from Vladimir Putin, Ilham Aliyev, and Nikol Pashinyan.

“The working group will present a schedule for the implementation of measures aimed at developing transport in the region to the leaders of the three countries by March 1,” the statement said.

The President of Russia expressed confidence that the implementation of agreements regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh issue would be beneficial for both Yerevan and Baku. “I am sure that the implementation of these agreements will be beneficial for both the Armenian and Azerbaijani peoples, undoubtedly beneficial for the region as a whole, which means it will also be beneficial for Russia's interests,” Putin said.

It is noteworthy that today in Moscow, negotiations took place between Vladimir Putin, Ilham Aliyev, and Nikol Pashinyan, lasting about 4 hours. During the discussions, issues related to the exchange of prisoners of war, infrastructure, peacekeeping operations, and humanitarian issues were addressed.

At the end of the meeting, Pashinyan stated that it was not possible to resolve the issue of prisoners of war today; however, the parties agreed to continue their work on the exchange of prisoners of war. He also mentioned that the status quo of Nagorno-Karabakh has not yet been settled.
