Parents of Fallen Soldiers Demand Urgent Investigation into Criminal Cases
Parents of soldiers who died in the 44-day Artsakh war are staging a protest outside the Main Military Investigative Department, demanding that investigators expedite the examination of criminal cases related to the military personnel.
Garik Mkhitaryan, father of fallen soldier Mkhitar Mkhitaryan, stated that since November 2, they have filed reports regarding crimes committed by military personnel. Mkhitaryan claims that their children died due to erroneous orders from the command staff.
“There are people who still need to be investigated. The investigators say they have been examined in Artsakh and were not brought to Armenia. There is also an investigative body there, and they have worked with them, but the circumstances are still insufficient, thus leaving our solution hanging in the air,” Mkhitaryan noted.
The father of the deceased soldier does not see any intention to delay the criminal case; he simply requests that all departmental investigators carry out their duties promptly so the case can move forward.
