It’s Ridiculous to Think He Can Scare Armenians with His ‘Iron Fist’: Ara Abrahamyan on Aliyev

Ara Abrahamyan, the president of the Union of Armenians in Russia, commented on Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's anti-Armenian rhetoric, stating that Aliyev can only intimidate his own people with his threats and ‘iron fist’. “It’s ridiculous to think that he can scare Armenians with his ‘iron fist’. We are not intimidated by his autocratic stance and rhetoric. However, Aliyev is a source of significant problems for the Azerbaijani people. I sincerely pity that nation; it is not their fault but their ruler's, who talks about peace and the prospect of co-existence while consciously preparing the ground for new war,” stated Abrahamyan.

He further emphasized that neither Erdogan nor the spirit of the executioner Enver Pasha, whom Aliyev referred to in his speeches in Baku, will help him anymore. Abrahamyan underlined that Armenians are one of the most organized nations with vast experience of living side by side with each other in various countries, including Islamic ones. “Unfortunately, with his warlike rhetoric and actions, Aliyev inspires not a single drop of confidence,” added Abrahamyan.
