I Fear to Imagine Her Condition: MP on Maral in Azerbaijani Custody
WRed
The European Court of Human Rights has confirmed that Lebanese-Armenian returnee Maral Najaryan is imprisoned in Baku, Azerbaijan, as human rights advocate Tatevik Hayrapetyan reported on her Twitter microblog, reminding that the woman was abducted by Azerbaijani armed forces in Shushi.
“I fear to imagine her condition in such an environment filled with brutality and anti-Armenian sentiment,” she wrote.
It is worth noting that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev recently stated that Armenians captured after military operations in Nagorno-Karabakh are not prisoners of war but “terrorists” and will face criminal liability.
