How Citizens Vaccinated with Sputnik V Feel: Ministry of Health Responds
There have been no post-vaccination reactions among citizens vaccinated with the Russian Sputnik V vaccine; everyone's health is reportedly good. This information was provided to Sputnik Armenia by Alina Nikoghosyan, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia.
Nikoghosyan noted that in order to avoid potential speculations, the senior management of the Ministry of Health, led by Minister Arsen Torosyan, was vaccinated first.
The Minister of Health expressed deep gratitude to Russia for mutual cooperation in combating infectious diseases, including COVID-19, and hopes for a long-term partnership in public health between the two countries.
Earlier, Minister Torosyan had informed Sputnik Armenia that he felt well after receiving the Russian Sputnik V vaccine against coronavirus. On the day of vaccination, the minister experienced slight weakness, which is typical in such vaccination cases, while his deputy, Artyom Smbatyan, had no complaints at all.
“I had decided for myself that I would get vaccinated against coronavirus at the first opportunity, and it turned out that the first opportunity was the Russian Sputnik V vaccine,” said Torosyan, adding that the Armenian side continues to negotiate for receiving a larger quantity of the vaccine.
It is worth noting that Russia was the first in the world to register a COVID-19 vaccine, developed by the Gamaleya Center and the Russian Direct Investment Fund. It has been named Sputnik V. The first batch has already been circulated and supplied to Russian regions.
On November 21, a Russian interdepartmental delegation arrived in Armenia, which included representatives from the health sector. Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko handed over the first samples of the Russian coronavirus vaccine, Sputnik V, to Armenian Health Minister Arsen Torosyan.
