Former Spokesman of the Defense Army Addresses Sasun Mikayelyan with a Targeted Message

Senor Hasratyan has issued a targeted message to the President of the Union of Volunteers of Armenia (EKM) Sasun Mikayelyan.

“Dear Mr. Mikayelyan, when on November 26, 2018, while being the head of the Public Relations Department of the Defense Army, I responded to your statement on my Facebook page that the 'Velvet Revolution is of greater value than the Artsakh Liberation War', I received a call from Yerevan minutes later and was forced to make a concession uncharacteristic of a military officer with years of service and delete my post. Years later, I must say that before deleting that two-line message, I submitted a report to the then highly respected Commander of the Defense Army regarding my resignation, but I received a sharp rejection...

Hours later, the media published an article titled 'SENOR HASRATYAN HAS REMOVED HIS POST REGARDING SASUN MIKAYELYAN’S STATEMENT', and for the first time in my 25 years of military service, I felt unbearably bad. I felt bad not because I attracted such attention from the journalistic community, which I find quite dear, but because I was confident in the honesty of the words I addressed to you, but I deleted them...

Today, we have handed over about 75% of the Homeland liberated at the cost of the blood of thousands of martyrs of the first Artsakh war, cities and villages bordering Syunik are now under direct fire, we have sacrificed the lives of more than 5,000 sons, and we have dozens of missing persons, thousands of wounded, including you...

After all this, your silence is incomprehensible to me... It is incomprehensible not only because you had your modest contribution to the liberation of the territories that are now surrendered, but also because, leading the largest army of war participants living in the Motherland - the Union of Volunteers of Armenia, you continue to demonstrate neutrality towards these homeland-destroying developments carried out by the authorities...

Meanwhile, that Union is meant to be dedicated to the defense of the Homeland not only during wartime but also after the war - when our land is being torn apart...

Having said this, I do not expect any response; I just want you to think a little and use your authority to prevent the further dangers threatening our Homeland... I wish the spirit and strength befitting the fighting defenders.
