Rubinyan: Those Who Left 'My Step' Faction Must Explain Their Mandate

Emphasizing the necessity for representatives to be accountable to their voters, I believe that the individuals who received their parliamentary mandate based on the votes of citizens who supported the 'My Step' alliance must at least explain whom and under what mandate they continue to serve as MPs, not in a document-based but in a political context. This was stated by Ruben Rubinyan, Chairman of the National Assembly's Foreign Relations Committee, on his Facebook page.

Following recent events, the following individuals have left the 'My Step' faction:

  • Vardan Atabekyan
  • Gor Gevorgyan
  • Taghuhie Tovmasyan
  • Anna Grigoryan
  • Sofya Hovsepyan

Emphasizing the necessity for representatives to be accountable to their voters, I believe that the individuals who received their parliamentary mandate based on the votes of citizens who supported the 'My Step' alliance must at least explain whom and under what mandate they continue to serve as MPs, not in a document-based but in a political context.

I personally refrain from labeling the actions of these MPs, leaving the assessment to the citizens who voted for the 'My Step' alliance.

P.S. As a dominant political majority, the 'My Step' faction will continue to carry out its single united mandate as an instrument and mandate of the people's power. In Armenia, power belongs to the people, and this is an indisputable and irreversible fact.
