Prime Minister's Representatives are Negotiating to Open Borders: Mikayel Minasyan
Former Armenian Ambassador to the Vatican Mikayel Minasyan has written on Telegram:
“According to my information, representatives of Nikol are negotiating a package of documents that Armenia is supposed to sign in exchange for opening borders with Turkey and establishing diplomatic relations. The package includes Armenia's commitment not to conduct anti-Turkish foreign policy, including refraining from promoting the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide, completely distancing itself from the diaspora's actions aimed at recognizing the Genocide, signing documents about the absence of territorial claims, as well as relinquishing financial compensation. The concessions package also includes the establishment of a commission of historians to study the 'Armenian question' (this is a literal expression from the working document of the negotiators, where the Genocide is timidly referred to as the 'Armenian question').
It is important to remember that the aforementioned process is taking place alongside verbal agreements to strengthen the transfer of economically significant border areas to the Azerbaijani side and the use of a pan-Turkish corridor through Meghri,” he noted.
