Similar Incidents Occurred on December 31: Vahram Poghosyan on Shots Fired in Shushi
On January 6, a source from Wargonzo in Stepanakert reported that the Azerbaijani Armed Forces had fired shots in the Shushi area using small arms. According to the source, most of the shots were fired into the air, but there were also some aimed at the positions of the Artsakh Defense Army.
The spokesperson for the President of Artsakh, Vahram Poghosyan, assured 24News that nothing extraordinary had occurred and that a similar situation had taken place on December 31, New Year's Eve, when Azerbaijanis fired into the air.
“As a resident of Stepanakert, I did not hear the shots this time, but the Defense Army has already reported that there were a few shots fired into the air, meaning there were no shots aimed at our positions,” said Vahram Poghosyan, adding that currently, normal activities are taking place regarding the search for bodies in the areas occupied by Azerbaijan.
“The situation in Artsakh is normal. The sources spreading such information are concerning, as they cause unnecessary and inappropriate panic among the peaceful population. There is no reason to worry. Russian peacekeepers are fully carrying out their work together with the Defense Army soldiers,” Vahram Poghosyan noted.
