Russian Sappers Clear Nearly 440 Hectares in Artsakh

Specialists from the International Mine Action Center of the Russian Ministry of Defense continue their demining work in the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. Over the course of a single day, Russian sappers have cleared an area of 5 hectares and identified and destroyed 1,105 explosive objects.

Since the start of operations on November 23, 2020, engineering units of the Russian peacekeeping forces have cleared nearly 440 hectares of territory, approximately 165 kilometers of roadway, and 618 buildings, including 22 socially significant facilities. They have neutralized 21,755 explosive objects.

During the demining operations, Russian peacekeepers utilize modern robotic systems, and the identified explosive objects are either removed and destroyed at specially equipped military bases or destroyed on-site, ensuring all safety measures are observed.
