Call to Achieve Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's Resignation as Soon as Possible: Artsakh Justice Party

The positions of the authorities in Artsakh and Armenia regarding the Artsakh issue and international relations have led to a perception of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict not as a struggle for the right to self-determination, but rather as a mere territorial dispute. The devastating consequences of this are being borne by the Armenian nation today. This was stated by the Artsakh Justice Party in a recent statement.

“For 44 days, the daily bombardment of the civilian population, the use of prohibited weapons, and the torture of prisoners has allowed the unpunished Ilham to assume the right to control the exit and entry of Armenian or other officials in Artsakh. Amid the international community's indifference and the silence of the authorities in Armenia and Artsakh, he boasts that Artsakh is 'their territory' and threatens that any visit by an Armenian official to Artsakh will result in a 'harsh response,'” the statement said.

The Artsakh Justice Party strongly condemns the unprecedented aggressive and irresponsible behavior of Azerbaijan's political leadership and calls on the international community, the co-chair states of the OSCE Minsk Group, and especially the Russian Federation, which conducts a peacekeeping mission in Artsakh and guarantees the ceasefire between the parties, to condemn Aliyev's militaristic actions, as resolving conflicts through force could set a disastrous precedent for this region.

The Artsakh Justice Party points out that the ceasefire established by the statement of November 9 must obtain political content regarding the status of the Republic of Artsakh (the restoration of the status quo until a resolution of the conflict) and the restoration of borders; otherwise, the existing issues are a ticking time bomb for the peace of the region.

The Artsakh Justice Party believes that only the enemy will have the desire to negotiate with a defeated and capitulated leader, who has new expectations on January 11. Therefore, we call on all parliamentary and non-parliamentary political forces in the Republic of Armenia and the wider segments of society to swiftly reach the resignation of the Prime Minister of Armenia,” the statement concludes.
