New Year Should Bring New Initiatives for the Defense and Construction of the Homeland, Says Gegharkunik Governor
During a year-end meeting, Gegharkunik Governor Gnel Sanosyan congratulated the staff of the regional administration on the occasion of the New Year and Christmas, wishing them health and a year full of success and achievements.
"We have had a very challenging and difficult working year, associated with both the threat of the pandemic and the heavy war imposed on us. Nevertheless, through planned and effective work, we were able to overcome many difficulties. Just like in 2019 and 2020, our region was recognized first in the Republic for the number of implemented subsidized programs. It is worth mentioning that this year, socio-economic and essential projects worth 5 billion 308 million drams were carried out. Additionally, 6.7 billion drams were invested in road construction. We only failed to implement six subsidized projects due to the war. I believe that next year we will be able to rectify this gap.
The regional administration staff worked hard both in combating the pandemic and in supporting the frontline during the war, for which I thank them. At the same time, I hope that we will continue and develop these achievements together in 2021.
To overcome the severe consequences left by the pandemic and the war, we require extremely coordinated and active work. Despite the sad and heavy impressions we are parting with from the past year, we must connect the New Year with new hopes and expectations, new initiatives for the defense and construction of the homeland.
I take this opportunity to congratulate all of you on the New Year and Christmas, wishing you good health, family, and personal happiness, as well as the realization of your goals," Governor Gnel Sanosyan summed up.
