I Am Thinking of Families Whose Chairs Will Remain Empty at the Table: J. Lacote

Jonathan Lacote, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of France to Armenia, wrote on his Facebook page:

“Dear Armenian friends, dear compatriots living in Armenia, as we approach the end of this tumultuous year 2020, my thoughts are primarily with those families whose chair will remain empty around the table.”

“Now is not the time for celebrations, but more than ever I would like to share the hope that this country continues to inspire in me. I wish for Armenia to live in peace and security, without fearing to see its young people heading to the frontline once again.”

“I wish for Armenia, which measures its history in millennia, to have confidence in its future. I wish for Armenia never to doubt in its beauty, strength, and talent. I wish for Armenians to refrain from disputes and violent tempests. I wish for Armenians to look together in the same direction. I wish for Armenians to be proud to pass on this country to their children.”

“I wish for France to be by Armenia's side. I wish for France to remember what Armenians have given to it. I wish for the French to come to Armenia or sometimes fix their gaze here. I wish for the French to always love Armenia, just as Armenia still loves us. I wish everyone that the year 2021 will be a year of peace, happiness, and prosperity.”
