Europe Receives First Batch of Azerbaijani Gas

On December 30, gas supplies began for the first batch in Italy and Greece as part of the Azerbaijani project 'Southern Gas Corridor'. This was reported by EADaily, referring to the operator of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline, which is a part of the gas supply project from Azerbaijan to Europe.

Italy received 143,000 cubic meters of gas today. On December 31, a total of 15 million cubic meters of gas is scheduled to be supplied through the pipeline crossing the border with Turkey. Of this, 4 million cubic meters will be sent to Thessaloniki, Greece, and 11 million to Melendugno, Italy.

The Trans Adriatic Pipeline is part of the 'Southern Gas Corridor' project, which transports gas from Azerbaijan to Europe. As an alternative to Russian gas, it is planned to deliver 6 billion cubic meters of gas annually to Turkey and 10 billion cubic meters to Europe.
