Vagharshak Harutyunyan Highlights the Role and Significance of the Russian Military Base in Armenia
On December 29, Armenian Minister of Defense Vagharshak Harutyunyan visited the Russian 102nd military base located in Gyumri. Harutyunyan familiarized himself with the base's infrastructure, armaments, and military technology.
The Head of the Armenian defense agency congratulated the command and personnel of the military base on the occasion of the unit's formation anniversary, and honored the Russian servicemen who distinguished themselves during their service.
Harutyunyan emphasized the importance of the Russian military base in Armenia in the context of ensuring regional security and discussed the deepening of Armenian-Russian strategic partnership and allied relations.
The Minister also visited the Orthodox Church of St. Alexander located within the base's territory and the military history museum, where he made an entry in the museum's guestbook.
