The second of three cargo planes expected from the UN World Food Program has arrived in Armenia from Belgium, bringing essential supplies for combating COVID-19, acquired with the support of the Armenian Red Cross Society. This was reported by the UN office in Armenia.

This shipment includes a range of health and humanitarian items valued at a total of $490,301, including personal protective equipment, therapeutic food, anesthetic devices, wheelchairs, medical crutches, orthopedic equipment, clothing, shoes, sleeping bags, food, hygiene products, and more.

The personal protective equipment and medical supplies have been immediately transferred to the Ministry of Health, while clothing, shoes, blankets, and hygiene products have been sent to the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Meanwhile, 16,000 kg of food will remain at the Armenian Red Cross office to be distributed to the most vulnerable populations throughout the country.

The first plane had landed on October 29, delivering the initial batch of essential supplies for the fight against COVID-19.
