Defense Ministry Has No Answer on Whether Military Aviation Institute Cadets Participated in Protection of Nikol Pashinyan's Residence
The Republic of Armenia's Ministry of Defense has no response regarding whether the cadets of the Military Aviation Institute were involved in the security of state facilities outside the institute.
On November 30, Aysor.am submitted a written inquiry to the Ministry of Defense, asking for confirmation or denial of the circulating information about the involvement of cadets in the protection of the Prime Minister's residence, whether they were armed, and how long they had been engaged in the security of government residences.
Just minutes after the inquiry, we received a response from the Ministry of Defense indicating that the letter had been forwarded to the ministry's secretary. There was an expectation that within the requested five-day period, the Ministry of Defense would respond to our inquiry; however, to date, there has been no response.
We have repeatedly contacted the Ministry of Defense's Information and Public Relations Department, each time being asked to wait, with assurances that the issue would be resolved and we would receive an answer to our inquiry soon. A full month has passed, yet the Ministry of Defense has not provided a response regarding whether the cadets participated in the protection of Nikol Pashinyan's residence and whether this contradicts or interferes with the educational process of the military institute.
