Arman Babajanyan Questions the Priority of Current Issues in Parliament After Artsakh War

The National Assembly is discussing the issue of terminating the powers of Naira Zohrabyan in the Human Rights Protection Commission. Independent MP Arman Babajanyan stated that it seems this parliament does not fully grasp the extent of the deepening crisis in our country and its role in that process.

“Who among you is innocent? Whoever brought this agenda to the National Assembly, let them throw the first stone. How is it that you are unable to see the beam in your own eye, yet you can see the straw in your neighbor's eye? Do you think that this is the most important issue to be discussed here after the Artsakh war? Do you think taxpayers are giving us money for this? Instead of talking about solidarity most of all before the New Year, shouldn’t we be discussing this issue?” Babajanyan emphasized, expressing his desire that the issues of the committees assigned to the majority party be discussed rather than focusing solely on the contents of the records, but on the effectiveness and employment of those committees.

He pointed out that most committees have been idle this year and stated he would oppose this initiative. “Perhaps we should discuss the leaders of those committees. Zohrabyan’s number of records made—whether one more or one less—has not made the overall atmosphere worse. Defense and justice are the two important priorities the state must ensure for citizens,” Babajanyan underscored.
