VIDEO: Russia Played a Key Role in Stopping Violence in Nagorno-Karabakh, Peskov
Russia has played a key role in stopping the violence in Nagorno-Karabakh. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia, in an interview with Vladimir Solovyov.
“In general, the active military operations that took place in 2020 in Europe, as well as right near our borders, are something that the international community should not have allowed. In this case, Putin's responsible stance, his efforts aimed at stopping all this, are certainly costly, and it is difficult to underestimate them,” Peskov said.
When asked how Putin managed to do this, Peskov noted that it was due to maintaining good and constructive relations with both Baku and Yerevan, which are based on mutual respect, allowing Putin to serve as a mediator in the resolution process.
Peskov added that he cannot imagine what Putin could have said to Azerbaijani President Aliyev to stop the military operations. “Putin personally dealt with this issue. He spent long days with the phone receiver in hand,” the presidential spokesman added.
