Only Armenian Citizens Requiring Urgent Medical Treatment May Enter Russia

The Embassy of Armenia in Russia invites the attention of Armenian citizens. In a statement released by the embassy, it is mentioned: 'In light of several recent incidents involving Armenian citizens traveling to Russia for medical treatment under current restrictions, and facing various issues due to the absence of necessary documents, we find it necessary to emphasize the following: Only those Armenian citizens who, due to their health condition, are required to undergo urgent treatment in state-licensed medical institutions in Russia may enter the country for this purpose.

These citizens must present the relevant invitation document issued by the medical institution at the airport, which should include the citizen's data, information regarding the urgency of the treatment, and the timelines. These invitations must be approved by the relevant medical institution in accordance with established procedures and registered in the online register/database of data.

Non-compliant documents may be deemed insufficient grounds for entry into the country. We also note that any document is subject to additional verification by border guards at the airport. To avoid various issues, we urge our citizens to exercise maximum responsibility in these matters, strictly follow the procedures for document preparation and registration, and ensure that all necessary documents are in order before departure.'
