Naira Zohrabyan: Various My Step lawmakers have contacted me since yesterday
Today, the Prosperous Armenia Party held a press conference where party member Naira Zohrabyan stated that she does not justify violence and finds any act of violence unacceptable. This comment comes in the wake of clashes between My Step lawmakers and protesters that occurred earlier today.
“Since yesterday, various lawmakers from My Step have contacted me and said that they will be forced to vote for my removal from the position of committee chair due to pressures. They have been threatened and told that their votes will be recorded and sent to the leadership of the My Step faction. Esteemed lawmakers who have called me, please vote in favor calmly, because you have told me that Nikol Pashinyan personally threatened you all, stating, ‘You will see the most brutal revenge,’” emphasized Naira Zohrabyan.
She mentioned that once she loses her position as committee chair, she will feel much freer as an ordinary member of parliament. “I feel compassion for Nikol Pashinyan on a human level; he will carry the mark of a traitor for generations to come. I will do more to ensure that Nikol Pashinyan's cultured friend and ally, Aliyev, is recognized as a war criminal, and I will do everything to make sure that this clan of criminals, this clan of youthful Armenians who have seized the country, departs as soon as possible,” highlighted Naira Zohrabyan.
