Let all media forget my phone number. The Turk has put up his sign in Syunik, your materials were of no use. Vorotan Mayor
Let all media forget my phone number, it has become clear that your news articles were of no use: this is what Suren Ohanyan, the Mayor of Vorotan community, told Auroranews. We wanted to clarify the current situation for the residents of the area who were given one hour by the Azerbaijanis to leave.
"The Turk has come and already put up his sign in Syunik... What else do you want me to say? Your materials were of no use—just look at what is happening in Syunik," Ohanyan stated.
Earlier, information spread on the internet that Azerbaijan had given one hour for the newly acquired territories in Vorotan to be vacated. Auroranews spoke with Mayor Suren Ohanyan to verify the authenticity of the information.
"The Azerbaijanis have come to the area belonging to the Agricultural Cooperation and have given one hour to leave that place. They are currently in that section. The area consists mainly of arable land, and there are 15 buildings," Ohanyan noted.
When asked about the mood in Vorotan, whether the people are afraid, he replied, "We are in a fighting spirit. None of the residents of Vorotan have left from here." He was also asked if the area is safe for residents, and he mentioned, "No one can say that it is safe, but peacekeepers are stationed there."
