I Proposed a Debate Involving Myself, Samvel Babayan, and Seyran Ohanyan: Kocharyan

The Chairman of the National Assembly's Defense and Security Committee, Andranik Kocharyan, wrote on his Facebook page:

“After the statement made by the retired generals led by Seyran Ohanyan, I suggested to Public Television host Petros Ghazaryan to organize a debate on air in any format involving myself, Samvel Babayan, the former Secretary of the Artsakh National Security Council, and Seyran Ohanyan, who served as the Minister of Defense of Armenia from 2008 to 2016. Samvel Babayan accepted the invitation to participate in the debate, while Seyran Ohanyan declined, citing some obstructive circumstances.

As the leader of the list of retired generals demanding the government’s resignation, I once again invite Seyran Ohanyan to accept my offer and discuss the deep-rooted reasons for the defeat of our army in the same format. Before the discussion, I ask Mr. Ohanyan to present the collective viewpoint of the retired generals, considering the fact that they participated in the victories of the First Artsakh War, even though at that time they all held lower ranks.

Each of us must understand the profound reasons for the defeat, especially its irreversible course over the last 20 years. One must have the courage to accept this and take responsibility. If this issue is not resolved, we will leave future generations in the endless search for traitors, which will deprive us of the vision needed to build a future for our army.
