Armenian Prosecutor General Discusses Legal Cooperation with Belarusian Ambassador

The Prosecutor General of Armenia, Arthur Davtyan, hosted the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Konyukin, on December 28.

According to the Public Relations Department of the Office of the Prosecutor General, welcoming the guest, Prosecutor General Davtyan first congratulated Konyukin on commencing his mission in Armenia and wished him fruitful work that benefits the interests of both friendly countries.

“Arthur Davtyan expressed confidence that Mr. Konyukin's previous experience as the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus, along with the bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the prosecutor's offices of the two countries, and the warm and direct interpersonal relations create serious prerequisites for enhancing the cooperation between the two organizations, aimed at making it more targeted and closer,” the statement said.

The newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus, thanking for the warm welcome, expressed his readiness to promote the expansion of legal relations between the two countries based on the existing foundation and visible institutional needs. He emphasized initiatives aimed at utilizing the resources of the law enforcement agencies of both countries more effectively in the fight against transnational crime.

During the meeting, issues related to legal cooperation, the exchange of experiences between the prosecutor’s offices of the two countries, resulting joint projects, possible directions, mechanisms, and other matters of mutual interest were discussed.
