We say we should go to Russia through Nakhchivan, but shouldn’t Azerbaijan go to Nakhchivan through our territory? - Pashinyan

I also want to draw everyone’s attention to the nuance that in the statement there is no mention of Syunik, Meghri, or a corridor, but there is an assertion about the debilitation of transport routes. This was stated today, on December 27, by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in an interview with Public Television, responding to a journalist's question about any clarifications related to granting a corridor to Azerbaijan-Nakhchivan.

When asked if there are specific red lines for us, Pashinyan replied that the red line for us is our territorial integrity. “But I want to say something else. For instance, yesterday Upper Lars was completely closed for all types of freight transport, and this is a familiar story. For example, if it turns out that we can have railway communication with Russia, as well as railway communication with Iran and Russia, will this be good news for us, or bad news? If we are going to Iran through Nakhchivan, how do we envision this? Are we going to say that we should go to Russia through Nakhchivan but Azerbaijan shouldn’t go through our territory to Nakhchivan? Is that possible?”

According to Pashinyan, the issue of controlling the road is a matter for further discussion, as are other issues that need to be resolved later, and he is confident that they will be resolved.
