Vladimir Gasparyan: 'I believe the police system does not carry out illegal orders, but rather acts on whims'
The Supreme Commander in Chief must resign when defeated, regardless of anything. This was stated by former Police Chief Vladimir Gasparyan during the event 'Let’s Stand Strong Next to the Church' held in support of the church.
"I do not believe that this government can conduct normal elections under these conditions," he said. Commenting on the actions of the police system, he noted that those who cannot endure the absurdities should leave; however, overall, he believes that law enforcement agencies should remain in their place and operate within the boundaries of the law. Specifically regarding police actions, he stated: "I believe they are not carrying out illegal orders, but are even acting on whims," he remarked.
Referring to the incident at Yerablur, he characterized the actions as "an abomination, insolence, and foolishness." Speaking about the police leading to Shushi, Vladimir Gasparyan said he knows what happened and will demand accountability. "I would not say that the police were misled; the army had lost control, it was ungoverned, because when civilians interfere in the activities of officers and generals, and whims are acted upon, and police are beaten, it was a continuation of that deformation of the soul. Of course, they need to answer for that, because they are my boys; I have been with them for many years," he said, adding that the number of fallen policemen has been concealed.
"Those guys were secretly buried without military honors; I believe it should be offensive for the entire system and for any normal person, as they weren't even given the honor of having their names mentioned," he said, noting that discussions about 6 billion dollars in front of Artsakh have existed since Levon Ter-Petrosyan, during the terms of the second and third presidents, which has now turned into five billion. "All of this needs to be investigated," he asserted. When asked if he would return to the system after a change of power, he noted that he had long stated he had come for 60 years and is now already 63, ruling out a return to the system after a regime change.
