VIDEO: A Specific Person Refused to Provide Weapons to the Unit – The Warehouse was Full, Says Nikol Pashinyan

I have spoken several times about early elections, including from the podium of the parliament, it is true that it was in the context of a question, but I have asked why those forces that demand my resignation do not demand early elections; after all, the fate of the government is decided by the people. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in an interview with Public Television.

“One of the expressions of the people's will is elections, especially when it is not possible to showcase the people's will publicly, while the opposition enjoys huge financial, informational, and organizational resources. Regarding the roadmap, yes, I have published the roadmap, but I do not specify the deadlines for early parliamentary elections in it. One layer of the roadmap can resolve issues more quickly than I have indicated,” said Pashinyan.

Pashinyan mentioned that in the case of consultations with political forces, he primarily refers to parliamentary forces because under our current legislation, there is only one mechanism for early parliamentary elections: the Prime Minister resigns, the parliament does not accept it twice, and early elections are appointed, and for this, agreements must be reached with the parliamentary forces.

“Or there is another option that we amend the constitution, and the parliament gets the authority for self-dissolution and to go to early elections. That is, these are not decided unilaterally, but they occur after reaching a certain understanding on this issue. There are people who demand that I resign, and there are people who demand that I do not resign. And now my question is the following: why do we start from the assumption that the voice of some of these people should be heard, while that of others should not? I propose a mechanism whereby everyone's voice is heard, and the ratio of those voices is weighted and measurable. This is a mechanism for forming a consensus. Ultimately, what is the debate about? Who should decide the fate of the government? According to the constitution and my assumption, the fate of the government should be decided by the people.

There was a significant question when we talked about defeat: it is very important to understand why that defeat occurred. Two days ago, I spoke with discharged volunteers who shared incidents that need clarification: they recounted how a unit or group went to attempt to receive weapons, that they specified the name of a particular person who refused to provide them with weapons, and they were forced to break down the doors of the warehouse to arm themselves, seeing that it was full of all the necessary weapons and ammunition. If confirmed, this could be one of the reasons for the defeat; we need to understand why this happened. I must be confident in one thing, that the warehouse was full, and weapons were not provided to the people. The whole truth about this war must be revealed. Perhaps some things are not being said correctly; there are dozens of testimonies that high-ranking individuals have taken street lighting from the areas under Armenian control and removed them. Specific names are mentioned; perhaps they are lying, I do not know, it needs to be clarified, there are people connected to the opposition. The pre-election campaign is an opportunity to stand before the people, present accusations, and then the people will evaluate,” Pashinyan said.
