Sky to Be Illuminated with Balloons in Yerevan and Stepanakert on December 31

The Stepanakert City Hall has released a statement announcing, "Dear compatriots, you already know that this year the Stepanakert City Hall will not organize festive events for the New Year. Our losses are too great to celebrate the New Year with the joy it deserves. However, this day carries another meaning: it is a time for unity, to remember the important events of the past year and to outline the tasks for the coming year.

The Stepanakert City Hall invites all of you to the city’s memorial complex (Brotherhood Cemetery) to pay tribute to the memory of our fallen heroes.

On December 31, balloons will light up the sky in both Yerevan and Stepanakert. Balloons will be provided free of charge to all those who wish to participate. From 21:00 on December 31, balloons will be distributed at the memorial complex (you can also bring your own), and at 22:00, we will launch them into the sky (you can join us from your homes at the same time). Let 2021 be a year of peace and light!"
