Proposal to Create an Emergency Working Group to Oversee Demarcation Processes in Syunik Region by MP Armen Khachatryan

MP Armen Khachatryan from the 'My Step' faction of the National Assembly proposes the following:

Considering the importance of effectively safeguarding the national security interests of Armenia during the ongoing demarcation processes in the Syunik region, alongside the significant public interest in these processes and the various contradictory information disseminated by civil-political organizations and media representatives, which has instilled a sense of uncertainty, anxiety, and lack of security guarantees among the population, as well as based on the results of my observations in the Syunik region, I suggest the following to the government of Armenia:

1. Create an emergency observational working group (hereinafter referred to as the Working Group) and dispatch it to the Syunik region for a period of five days to observe the demarcation processes and implement public oversight.
2. Involve one or two representatives from parliamentary parties, representatives of extra-parliamentary civil-political forces, representatives from the National Security Service (NSS) border troops, representatives from the Ministry of Defense, the head of the territorial subdivision of the NSS, the leader of the monitored community, a representative from the Ministry of Territorial Administration, a representative from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and, if necessary, also experts and specialists.
3. Ensure the necessary conditions for the movement of the Working Group and the execution of tasks in all communities (transport, working-advisory rooms, opportunities for meetings with residents, etc.).
4. After completing its tasks, the Working Group is to present a written conclusion within five days.
