Russian Health Ministry Approves Sputnik V Vaccine for Individuals Aged 60 and Over

The Russian Minister of Health, Mikhail Murashko, announced that the Sputnik V vaccine against coronavirus has been approved for individuals aged 60 and above.

“The Ministry of Health has approved changes to the instructions for medical use. Now, the Sputnik vaccine is permitted for individuals aged 18 and older. Thus, citizens aged 60 and over can also be vaccinated against the new coronavirus infection,” the Minister stated in an interview with Rossiya 24, as reported by Armenpress.

The Russian Ministry of Health registered the world’s first coronavirus vaccine in August, developed by the National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology in collaboration with the Russian Direct Investment Fund. It has been named Sputnik V.
