Police Report on Officer Injured by Citizen's Actions; 32-Year-Old Yerevan Resident Arrested
The Armenian Police has reported that on December 25, around 7 PM, law enforcement officers demanded that citizens blocking a road on Myasnikyan Avenue disperse. However, one of the individuals blocking the road pushed the police, resulting in one officer falling and being hospitalized with a fractured left tibia.
The police department issued the following statement: “A 32-year-old resident of Yerevan has been apprehended and arrested on suspicion of using violence against a representative of the authorities.
The police officer has fulfilled and will continue to fulfill the duties assigned to them by law. During protests, marches, and other demonstrations, police officers maintain public order and ensure public safety, including that of the demonstrators. We urge everyone to strictly adhere to the law. All violators will be detected and held accountable,” the statement reads.
