Lukashenko Reveals Details of Terrorist Group Discovery in Belarus

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has announced that a recently uncovered terrorist group in the country was led by opposition activist and businessman Nikolai Avtukhovich, who was reportedly preparing terrorist acts throughout the nation and transporting "tons" of weapons through Ukrainian territory, according to ria.ru.

“We recently arrested Avtukhovich’s group. They were transporting tons of weapons through Ukrainian territory. If our guys, whom I ordered to be nominated for state awards, had not uncovered them, our New Year would have been... to be honest, I underestimated him,” Lukashenko stated.

He added that “the group was planning to carry out terrorist acts across the country and had already begun its operations.” Furthermore, the Belarusian president emphasized that the issue of preventing such unlawful activities is under strict control.
