Israeli Air Defense Intercepts Two Rockets Fired from Gaza
On Friday evening, Palestinian extremists fired two rockets towards Israel from the Gaza Strip, which were intercepted by the Iron Dome air defense system, according to a report from the army's press service, as cited by the TASS news agency.
“A few minutes ago, following the warning signals in Ashkelon and surrounding areas regarding airstrikes, we report that two rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip towards Israel. Both were intercepted by the Iron Dome air defense system,” the statement read.
This marks the first rocket attack from Palestinian extremists since November 21, when rockets were again launched from Gaza towards Israel. In retaliation, Israeli fighter jets and helicopters targeted military positions of Palestinian extremist groups located within the Gaza Strip.
