Garry Kasparov Announces the Passing of His Mother

The 13th world chess champion Garry Kasparov's mother, Klara, has passed away. The renowned chess player announced this on social media.

"It is with deep sorrow that I announce the death of my mother, Klara Kasparov. She was an example to me, my greatest champion, my wise advisor, and the strongest person I have ever known. I love you, mom," wrote the 57-year-old Kasparov on his Twitter page.

The Russian Chess Federation has extended its condolences to Garry Kasparov.
