Explosion Rocks Nashville, Tennessee; Authorities Label Incident as Intentional

An explosion erupted in Nashville, Tennessee on Christmas morning, with authorities deeming the incident an intentional act. Police officers, who had been called to investigate the van explosion in downtown Nashville, heroically evacuated the area before the blast occurred, according to Fox News.

Mayor John Cooper categorized the explosion as a deliberate action. Law enforcement responded to reports of gunfire early Friday morning, which led them to the parked van. According to Nashville Police Chief John Drake, he received information suggesting that a bomb might be inside the van, set to detonate within 15 minutes.

Drake indicated that officers began evacuating residents from nearby buildings as first responders were already attending to the incident when the van exploded. One officer reportedly lost his hearing due to the explosion. Reports indicate that there were three people injured, all suffering minor injuries.

The explosion has caused significant material damage, affecting at least 41 businesses in the area.
