Today, an earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale was recorded in the eastern part of Uzbekistan. This information was reported by TASS, citing the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located 18 km south of the city of Fergana, with a depth of 2 km.

According to data from the seismic forecasting monitoring center affiliated with the country's Ministry of Emergency Situations, a 5.2 magnitude earthquake occurred in neighboring Kyrgyzstan. The agency's statement detailed that on December 26 at 15:28 Tashkent time (14:28 Yerevan time), a 5.2 magnitude earthquake hit Kyrgyzstan, occurring at a depth of 10 km, 238 km southeast from Tashkent.

It was also noted that the intensity of the tremors reached 6 on the Richter scale in Fergana, 4 in Andijan and Namangan, while Tashkent and other cities in the republic experienced tremors of 2.
