850 Out of 950 Homes Damaged During the War in Martuni, Artsakh
In the city of Martuni, Artsakh, 850 houses have been recorded as damaged due to enemy shelling during the war. The city has a total of 950 homes. Edik Avanesyan, the head of the Martuni municipal community, informed Armenpress about this, adding that the assessment of damaged buildings is ongoing.
According to him, the shelling also caused damage to 10 administrative buildings, 9 apartment complexes, 2 schools, and 2 kindergarten buildings, as well as the cultural palace of the regional center and its infrastructure.
“The recovery work is planned in phases. According to priority, a total of 68 houses are scheduled for restoration in this phase. In total, 180 houses have already been listed that need to be prioritized for restoration. Ten construction companies and organizations from Armenia and Artsakh are involved in the construction work,” the mayor detailed.
