VIDEO: Armen Sarkissian Visits Gyumri
President Armen Sarkissian made a working visit to Gyumri today.
At the residence of the Armenian Apostolic Church's Shirak Diocese, President Sarkissian met with the Diocesan Primate, His Grace Archbishop Mikayel Ajapahyan. They discussed the painful losses we suffered during the war and the crisis situation that has emerged in the country, agreeing that as a people and a state, we have no choice but to rise together with united strength.
Noting that the situation remains severe, the interlocutors expressed their concern and unease regarding the serious and multifaceted challenges and problems facing the country, and discussed ways to overcome these challenges. They particularly emphasized the importance of ensuring the security and protection of the state’s borders and border communities, as well as addressing issues related to the return of prisoners, hostages, and the identification of those missing.
Accompanied by the Diocesan Primate, President Sarkissian also visited the Holy Savior Church in Gyumri.
The President held meetings with Shirak Province Governor Tigran Petrosyan and Gyumri Mayor Samvel Balasanyan.
