The House of the Village Chief's Brother Has Come Under Enemy Control

In Syunik, the incomprehensible and illegal process of border demarcation continues, with Azerbaijanis already deploying soldiers and erecting defensive structures such as bunkers and positions. The Azerbaijani flag is waving on the left bank of the Vorotan River. From this position, the ‘Tatev’ Hydro Power Plant, a 4 km stretch of the Goris-Kapan road, and the Vorotan community have come under their crosshairs.

One of the houses in Vorotan has fallen under enemy control; it belongs to the brother of the village chief. In a conversation with us, Vorotan village chief Suren Ohanyan said that his brother was not allowed to enter the house yesterday: “They have set a deadline, and the Russian peacekeepers are here. However, I will tell you that no child has left the village; we are prepared for battle, we must defend our land, let the Turks be afraid.”

Furthermore, agricultural lands are also passing to the enemy: “People were building houses, engaging in grape cultivation, running their economy, and now it all remains with them,” reports the newspaper 'Hraparak'.
