Russia Allocates Additional Funds for Peacekeeping Mission in Nagorno-Karabakh
The Russian government has allocated additional funds from the state budget to the Ministry of Defense for carrying out peacekeeping operations in Nagorno-Karabakh, as reported by TASS.
According to Deputy Defense Minister Tatyana Shevtsova, the extra funds will be used for the rearmament of the peacekeeping contingent. There are also plans to make additional payments to personnel conducting peacekeeping operations in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Earlier, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Army General Valery Gerasimov, stated that Russian peacekeepers have contributed to preventing a humanitarian disaster in the region. He also noted that the Lachin corridor and the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh are entirely under the control of Russian peacekeepers.
