Armenia's External Debt Reaches $6 Billion: How Much Has It Increased?

As of the end of November this year, Armenia's state debt stands at $7.947 billion. According to data published by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Armenia, the state debt decreased by approximately $29 million in November alone.

However, compared to the beginning of the year, the state debt has increased by $606.9 million. Interestingly, some forecasts suggest that by the end of this year, Armenia's state debt will reach $8.850 billion, and by the end of 2021, it will amount to $9.215 billion. Such forecasts are based on the draft state budget for the upcoming year.

In addition, it is also predicted that the state debt will increase next year, by approximately $365 million according to these forecasts. During this period, the government will engage in new external borrowing and domestic debt while simultaneously repaying prior obligations.

The newspaper 'Zhoghovurd' reports that the external debt currently stands at $6 billion, which has increased by $34.6 million compared to October. As of the end of November this year, the domestic debt has decreased by $63.5 million.
