The Decision on the Status of Artsakh Requires Additional Negotiations, Says Speaker of the Federation Council of Russia
“The status of Nagorno-Karabakh requires additional negotiations. Of course, we expect an increase in the efforts of the OSCE, France, the United States, and other countries involved in the resolution process of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,” stated Valentina Matviyenko, the Speaker of the Federation Council of Russia, in a conversation with reporters.
Matviyenko added that the Russian side has not allowed further escalation of the conflict and new human casualties. “It was a very difficult agreement; achieving it has not been easy. Today, it is the Russian peacekeepers who ensure the implementation of that statement in the conflict zone, preventing violations of its terms, returning to armed conflict, and promoting the restoration of peaceful life,” Matviyenko said.
