Prime Minister Meets with Dozens of Volunteers from Artsakh War
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a meeting today at the government with several dozen representatives of volunteer units who participated in the Artsakh War. Welcoming the volunteers, the Prime Minister stated:
“Dear brothers, I am glad for our meeting today. As we had agreed, we are meeting today as representatives of groups and units who have gone to the front line as volunteers or as part of mobilization. You have expressed your willingness in various formats to have this kind of meeting and discussion. It is very important for me that our conversation today takes place, and I believe that this is a conversation that should continue because we have a lot to analyze and understand together.
Of course, at least some of you have already made public statements. I want to say that I am familiar with the content of at least some of those publications. I believe that there are very important issues and emphases raised in those publications, and obtaining answers to those emphases is essential for all of us, for the public, for the future, and for analyzing what has happened. And today I hope that such a conversation will take place. However, we should use this conversation more to plan and build our future. I think that our conversation should definitely be about the future, even when we discuss the distant or near past.
Because, after all, the most important indicator and formula for crowning that conversation with concrete results and leading to a specific point is that we record in all cases that our conversation must be about the future.
First of all, I want to thank you for your service to the homeland, the Republic of Armenia. I want to say that I highly appreciate your service, I also highly appreciate your civic positions, and I highly appreciate your willingness to place the truth above all else, because that is very important. Especially in situations like this, the truth can sometimes be very bitter, and sometimes the truth can be very dangerous. But I believe that in any case, we should have the will to pursue the truth, to have determination, but also, on the other hand, to be as cautious as possible on that path so that we do not inflict irrevocable damages on ourselves.
Thank you, and I will be glad to hear you.”
The representatives of the volunteer units thanked the Prime Minister for the opportunity to meet and emphasized the importance of such formats for discussing the post-war situation and vision for the future. They addressed the issues recorded by them during the Artsakh War and presented proposals for potential solutions.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Pashinyan responded to several inquiries from the volunteers regarding the revelation of cases of desertion and betrayal during the war, developments related to the Artsakh issue, military building, reforms in the education system, models of patriotic education, the introduction of volunteering in various sectors of public life, the effective functioning of state management institutions, the fight against disinformation, and the political, economic, and social development paths of our homeland, among other topics.
