154 kg of Sturgeon Discovered in Car Trunk

The Environmental and Mining Inspection Body of Armenia has uncovered a new case of damage to the environment. The Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia reports this.

"The discovery of 450 pieces of fish of the sturgeon species, with a total weight of 154 kg in the trunk of a car, has led to the calculation of the damage caused to the environment, amounting to 770,000 AMD," the statement said.

The ministry reminded that due to the spawning period for sturgeon species, the commercial fishing season in Lake Sevan ended on December 1 of this year. Monitoring will continue on a daily basis throughout the territory of the Republic of Armenia.
